The aim of this class is to over the main difficulties of the English language with regards to verbal groups (tense, aspect, modality, verbal constructions) and to review the different elements which make up simple sentences (article, genitive, compound nouns, N of N, superlative/comparative, quantifiers).
You will have grammar capsules to study and the corresponding grammar exercises to prepare at home. All grammar exercises for the semester are in the brochure. The PDF grammar capsules to study and the page numbers of the exercises to prepare for the following week will be published on Cursus every Friday.
Some of these elements may be revision to some of you, and new to others. In any case, the exercises are there to practice these points and they are compulsory.
In class, we will focus on the main difficulties of each grammar point, take a closer look at some of the exercises, and study an authentic document (fiction and non-fiction literature, press article, advertisement, etc.) which shows a real-life application of the studied grammar point. Bring all past texts back into class with you, as we will refer back to them in later weeks.
