The aim of this class is to continue to develop your written and oral skills in Business English and build up your knowledge of specialist vocabulary in the fields of trade, transport, advertising and the corporate world. We will be looking at different aspects of commercial, legal and economic cultures in the English-speaking world, with a view to preparing you for international business.
Through the analysis and interpretation of a variety of documents, we will be focusing on a selection of six companies from various fields and will be building up to writing comprehensive business reports on these companies. To do so, we will be looking at different concepts, tools and models used to analyse companies, their activities and their performance.
We will be working on written mediation skills: summarising and paraphrasing written information from French to English or English to English, selecting relevant information from a collation of documents, collating information from various sources, comparing and contrasting written documents, reformulating information for a different document format, writing reports.
