UEO Dysfunctional Urban America in The Wire (02MTH52)

This course examines the narrative structures and thematic content of HBO’s television series The Wire (2002-2008). David Simon’s 60-episode drama, which focuses on the city of Baltimore, challenges traditional fictional screen representations to offer an edifying vision of contemporary urban America. Even though the quality of English is not a criterion for the final assessment, a B2 or higher level is recommended for this class.
