The aim of this class is to practise key skills for efficient communication in the corporate world.
We will be focusing on specific angles of:
- internal communication (intercultural communication, understanding behaviour, sensitivities and ways of thinking of another culture in communication, organisational or decision-making situations and reacting accordingly)
- external communication (marketing, advertisement, communication plan, PR crises, company performance).
For both internal and external communication, we will be looking at writing reports.
We will be working on mediation skills: summarising and paraphrasing information from French to English or English to English, selecting relevant information from a collation of documents, collating information from various sources, comparing and contrasting written documents, reformulating information for a different document format, writing reports.
Where relevant, we will focus on some specificities of Latin American and the Iberian Peninsula.
For each topic covered, you will be working in groups on a company of your choice. This can be a well-established or a budding company, one you know of, or one you have personal experience with. The aim of these group activities will be to highlight how the different dimensions of corporate communication we look at apply to your company.
In week 12, you will present one of these aspects in groups for your CC2.
